About Ravvar Rhodesian Ridgebacks
We live on 60 acres of beautiful, Adelaide Hills land on Paris Creek Road at Meadows, South Australia. This we share with 4 Ridgebacks, 2 Jack Russell Terriers as well as a herd of pedigree Salers cows. We first found out about RRs in 1975 when a friend of Rob's showed him his lovely RR puppy bought from the West. We were at the time looking at Dobermans, Weimaraners or Dalmatians, but Rob was immediately taken by this special breed. Tembu our first RR arrived at the airport from Trezridge Kennels in Western Australia. That was in January 1976, and we've obviously been blessed with many more since. Places have been visited and many friends made all through the hobby of showing our RRs and we are proud to say that all our current RRs are homebred and or off our stock! Di is a licensed ANKC judge for Group 1 (Toys), Group 2 (Terriers), Group 3 (Gundogs) and Group 4 (Hounds). We feed our dogs exclusively on the BARF (bones and raw food diet) and use no commercially prepared products at all. Our reference for this diet Dr Billinghurst's book "Give Your Dog a Bone". Due to lifestyle changes we shall not be breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks any more, but we are currently showing a young male, Walker, who is doing extremely well in the show ring.
